Without a trip to the desert your Dubai holiday is incomplete. Take one of the many Dubai 4x4 tours in a 4x4 either into the sand dunes or along a wadi (dried up river bed). Most trips can be started from your hotel. We took a white knuckle ride over the sand dunes half an hour out of the city. An exciting ride being thrown about in the back ot a Toyato Land Cruiser with Dubai city glimmering in the distance as the sun began to set. Trully amazing, an exciting heart stopping experience at times.

After the thrill of the drive we were driven on regular roads at a slighlty more sedate pace to a Bedouin camp where we were entertained by belly dancers and enjoyed traditional arabian food under a clear star lit night. From the camp we also we able to take a short camel ride Dubai just for the fun of it!

The old mainly 1950's -1990's development of the city centre of Dubai is concentrated along the creek of Dubai. Unprecendented speed of development has occured in the last 5 years with the building of highways along the coast towards Abu Dhabi. Along the highways and the coast a swarm of building underway with ambitious projects such as the tallest building in the world, Burj Dubai which is little more than two storeys high presently. The Dubai marina development is one of the biggest building sites in the world. Be ware, many of the hotels are located a stones throw from the site shown below. Make sure you do your research!
